Even in the episodes so far into season 4 she has kept a bit to the back of the pack, with the exception of "Castle Mania" where I feel she and Rarity stole the show (and her reaction to Angel's perceived fate was painfully funny.) I'm curious to see what they have in store for her in the rest of the season... Where Twilight, Dash and Rarity all seem to have progressing ambitions that allow for story arcs, the other three seem to be pretty well settled into their chosen careers, which makes the likely storylines for them much harder to predict. For instance... last season I wouldn't have pegged her to be the central character in a Discord episode. We'll have to see if they throw some more curves for the mild mannered mare moving forward.
well done. you brought her shyness to full effect.
I've taken to doing these little portraits as a means of being more consistently productive, but also as a way to take advantage of the shifting nature of my free time since the summer, what with changes in both my work (which kept me at a crazy schedule through October and November) and private life. These days I often find myself with maybe an hour or two of free time in which to draw whatever I like... Quite often in the past, if I only have some elaborate image in the works, I'll skip working on it altogether as I won't really make any satisfying headway in that short of a time period. However, if I feel that I can churn out a portrait in that time, that can be enough to spur me on to do so.
I have received some complaints from people who just don't care for the portraits, and I do sympathize with anyone who follows me and deals with what seems like a flood of them. I also feel for the people who simply get sick of seeing them constantly showing up in whatever group they follow. While I don't submit them to groups myself, I'm always flattered and happy to approve group requests to include them.
As for larger images, I always have a few in the works, waiting for time and inspiration to converge. I'm trying to get one completed before the holidays drag me under entirely (my house will start filling up with relatives and my free time will plummet as early as next week, so it'll be a challenge.)
You know. Fluttershy and Discord.
Doesn't anyone see they're Jenny Wren and Mr. Riah, from Dickens Our Mutual Friend?
Fluttershy is crippled by being earth-bound, Discord is a hated alien.
And she reforms him. She shames him into good behavior.
"...NOT. YOUR. FRIEND..."
"...you're the big, bad wolf!"
